The fiercesome Moss Troopers will be answering all your questions about what it takes to be a pirate on the high and low seas! Hear a tale of daring do or dastardly deeds! Sing a shanty, and learn the difference between real pirates and your fancy-schmancy common, garden or Hollywood variety swashbucklers! It could save your life!

Join Mungo the Magnificent & Hygenia Imperfecta for some tales of Roman and British heroes, gods and goddesses at the first ever Roman Lates! There will be food to sample from local producers and fun and games besides, so prepare to party, Roman Orgy style!*

Join our very own 'Newcastle Eccentrics' only in Sunderland! Perhaps you would care for a drop of Dr. Rook's Solar Elixer? Buy a used rat or some old rags off Maggie 'Manniken' Rind, or fraternise with Jeremiah Hook? Failing that, we'll be sure to tell you some Georgian tales or stories of piratical shenanigans.

To celebrate the opening of this exhibition of Quentin Blake's memorable illustrations of Roald Dahl's 'The BFG,' we will be telling tales of Giants from all across the world, creatures just as terrible as the Childchewer, the Bonecruncher or the Maidmasher!
The BFG in Pictures will be on at The Bowes Museum from 14th July - 30th September.
Celtic Chieftain Mungo the Magnificent (also known as Mungo the Sheeplicker) will be appearing with Roman cavalryman Barbaratus, Bilious and Minimus Maximus for a thrilling display of horseback derring do! Will poor Mungo get trampled into the dirt? There's really only one way to find out...
